Leaked documents show major concessions offered to Israel

According to this BBC News article, Palestinians involved in negotiating with Israel are upset with Al Jazeera.  The news agency is reporting that it has leaked documents that reveal concessions offered by Palestine beyond what is generally viewed as the Palestinian negotiating position.

The Palestinians are reported to have proposed an international committee to take over Islamic and Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem, and limiting the number of returning refugees to 100,000 over 10 years.

The “winner” here might be Hamas, who is now able to say that the current leadership is taking the negotiations further than most Palestinians would be willing to go, and that they would have negotiated better.  The “loser” is the peace process itself, as these negotiations are so sensitive that any leak like this hurts the trust necessary for further agreements and thus progress to be made.
