Libya readies itself for the next round of protests

Muammar al-Qaddafi is rumored to be considering joining the protests against the government, of which he is the leader.  It’s odd.  This BBC News article covers the current situation in Libya, which really is ambiguous.  The article reports that social networking sites are being mobilized, but we’ve seen from previous articles that internet usage in Libya is extremely low.  There have been no demonstrations in the capital Tripoli, and this article suggests that a large pro-Qaddafi rally is actually being planned there.  So who knows what will happen.  A quote from the Colonel:

“Down with the enemies, down with them everywhere; down with the puppets everywhere, the puppets are falling, the autumn leaves are falling!” he said.  “The puppets of the USA, the puppets of Zionism are falling.”

He of course considers himself to be a revolutionary, not a puppet.
